NTUC extends short-term relief fund for PMD riders

By December 31, 2019Current

TL;DR – Don’t always wait until the last minute.

NTUC’s U FSE (Freelancers and Self-Employed) Unit has been providing financial relief to riders who are existing NTUC union members as well as new sign-ups since 19 November. The fund aims to help eligible e-scooter delivery riders who are facing a sudden loss of income and are not able to take on other jobs as they are primary caregivers or have pre-existing medical conditions etc.

The assistance comes in the form of vouchers. E-scooter delivery riders who are existing NTUC union members will be able to apply for $200 worth of Kopitiam or NTUC FairPrice gift cards.

New union members can apply for $100 gift cards.

The Short-term Relief Fund was initially targeted to end on 31 Dec 2019. However, due to overwhelming response, NTUC has decided to extend the application until 31 March 2020.

They are also planning pop-up booths at other locations that have yet to be announced.
