Watch the remastered Last Christmas MV for the full glory of the 80s in stunning 4K

By December 20, 2019Entertainment

TL;DR – The big hair, big jackets with big shoulders and colourful fashion, captured!

It’s that time of the year when the cheesy Christmas songs and even cheesier office gift exchanges happen.

Yeps, it’s December and there’s just no avoiding some songs. Like Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You which, incidentally, reached No. 1 on the US charts after 25 years. She’s even going to release a brand new music video to celebrate the moment. Yeps, it’s coming out today, 20th December at 12:00 midnight. US time, of course. (Editor’s note: The music video is out, here!)

Last Christmas by WHAM!

If the 25-year-old crowd favourite doesn’t make you feel old yet, what about Last Christmas by Wham?

Last Christmas has been covered to death through the years.

In more recent years, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and even Kpop girl group Blackpink have covered the song. And oh, Hong Kong pop princess G.E.M has also said this is her favourite Christmas song. Check out her cover in Chinese here, it’s quite a different take on the song.

Released back in December 1984, the song turns 35 this month!

Just last week, Sony Music Entertainment released a remastered 4K version of Wham!’s classic holiday music video to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

If you’re a fan of the 80s and missing the big hair, big jackets with big shoulders and colourful fashion, you just gotta watch this video. It’s got all of this in stunning full detail and glory.

In case you’re curious, here’s the original music video for the song, in full blurry mode, hurhur.
