TL;DR – A driver don’t pick the car, nuh-uh…the car picks the driver. It’s a mystical bond between man and machine.
This trailer actually amassed over 9 million views in 24 hours.
If you have been a fan of The Transformers since the ’80s, then you would know that the real Bumblebee is actually a Volkswagen Beetle in the animated series. However, in 2007 when the first movie was made, Volkswagen did not want to be part of the show as it was deemed a violent show.
Thanks to this decision by the Volkswagen, the Chevrolet Camaro benefitted and the rest, as you know, is history.
11 years and 2875381245947123 different Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee toys later, the Volkswagen Beetle is now back in action! Not too sure about the level of violence in this show but now that Michael Bay’s no longer the director (although he’s still the producer), I’m guessing there will be a lot less explosions?
A bit late huh, Volkswagen. Considering all the success Chevrolet got?
Anyway, this show is a prequel to the events that happened in all the Transformers movies we have watched so far.
Bumblebee: The Movie will be hitting the big screens 21 December 2018 – just in time for Christmas shopping. Hasbro! TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!
—Let me tell you somethin’, son: A driver don’t pick the car, nuh-uh…the car picks the driver. It’s a mystical bond between man and machine.
Also, I really like how they did a tribute to the late Bernie Mac with his super iconic line.
