3. Alert bank staff spotted $200,000 love scam
After all the warning and publicity trying to educate people from falling for scams like DHL scam, NTUC Fairprice scam, AirAsia scam and hotel scam, it looks like people are still failing for the scammers’ tactics.
Two alert Maybank staff managed to foil a love scam, helping a 72-year-old woman keep her hard-earned $200,000 safe. More here.
4. DBS Bank cleared $600,000 cheque by mistake.

5. She was charged two consultation fees for one visit to the doctor
A finance officer went to the doc about two conditions, and was charged teo sets of consultation fees. While MOH has said there’s nothing wrong with this, although clinics and doctors are advised to display and communciate charges clearly, most clinics and doctors charge based on per visit, regardless of the number of illnesses. What do you think?
Updated: MOH has clarified that it did not say there’s ‘nothing wrong’ with the practice, and that Straits Times had inserted the words. More here.
