The National Environment Agency (NEA) said in a weather advisory to expect short showers in the late morning and afternoon on five to seven days. Think it’ll be a much welcome cool relief? Nay, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 32 deg C and 33 deg C, and reach 34 deg C on a few days. Still sounds hot to us.
2. Walkway shelter at Bukit Batok collapsed and crushed a car

A lorry with an attached crane had crashed into the shelter at Bukit Batok West Ave 6 and caused it to collapse. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the accident and thankfully, there were no injuries. More here.
3. New tactic by phone scammers
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has issued a warning about suspicious calls from a person claiming to be an MOM or Government officer, asking to transfer money to an account to resolve issues relating to staying in Singapore or work pass application. The phone number displayed on the receiver’s number is that of the MOM Contact Centre hotline, 64385122. More here.
“This is a scam. Our officers will not make such calls to request for fund transfers. We have advised the affected individuals to lodge police reports.”
“MOM will not ask you to make a payment through a telephone call, especially to a third party’s bank account. In such situations, you should ignore the call.”
4. Do you live in Clementi or Redhill? You could be a millionaire!
A 4-room flat at Clementi Ave 3 was sold for $900,000, while a 5-room flat at Redhill Lane changed hands for $950,000 in May. Both are located near the MRT stations and are near amenities. More here.
5. Coach celebrates 75th anniversary with Disney x Coach
