TL;DR – Mark your calendars!

September will be a very busy month for Japanese culture fans as the third Charaexpo takes place from 9-10 September 2017 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. CharaExpo 2017 will consist of three main components; the Trading Card Game arena, Exhibitions and the Main Stage.

Those familiar with Charaexpo will see a number of familiar favourites, with vendors and exhibitors this year including Dentsu, ADK, Kadokawa, Good Smile Company, SONY, La Tendo, Shogakukan and ParentheXis so there’ll be lots of great Japanese goods up for grabs and features to see.

The Bushiroad Championship Series also returns so card game fans will get to compete again for a chance to go to the grand finals in Japan. Bushiroad will also be introducing a new card game, Dragonborne, with local wrestling heroine Angela Lee as its Image Ambassador so expect her to possibly make an appearance at the expo.

Of course, another attraction of Charaexpo are the special guests – and there’s a whole slew of them this year! From Sora Tokui; voice actress of Yuzurizaki Nero in Detective Opera Milky Holmes, Izumi Kitta; voice actress of Misaki Tokura in Cardfight!! Vanguard and Emi Nitta; voice actress and singer from Japan as well as anime voice performers Aina Aiba and Aimi who are currently featured in BanG! Dream, one of Bushiroad’s newest anime ventures.

If cosplay is your thing, you might want to take part in the Cos*Stage cosplay competition and get a chance to attend Tokyo Game Show 2017! Otherwise, get in the queue for star cosplayer appearances by Yui (Hong Kong), Knitemaya (Australia), Hakken (Malaysia) and Ely (Taiwan)

For those who were looking forward to the New Japanese Pro-Wrestling segment, unfortunately there’ll only be Jushin Thunder Liger and Tiger Mask making an appearance so you’ll be slightly disappointed this year if you were looking forward to the live matches that were showcased last year.

Early bird tickets are available now at $6 each and can be purchased online at peatix.com or buy it at all Sony stores, Toy or Game outlets or selected hobby stores like Okatutachi. So get ready for an exciting weekend coming up in September!
