Reporting Live from Tokyo: Tremors felt as 7.3 magnitude earthquake hits Japan

TL;DR – Tsunami predicted to reach Fukushima soon.

I’m currently in Tokyo, Japan when I woke up this morning to my room shaking.

The magnitude of things didn’t strike me but I decided to turn on the telly just to be sure and well,

I can’t understand Japanese but I think Tsunami highlighted in red is enough to trigger a series of Google searches and the latest being from Japanese national broadcaster NHK about a 3-metre tall tsunami that’s predicted to reach the coast of Fukushima “soon”.

Fukushima residents are also urged to evacuate immediately,

The epicentre of the earthquake, which was felt in Tokyo, was off the coast of Fukushima prefecture at a depth of about 10km.

I’ll provide more updates if I can, but for now, life in Tokyo (as seen from my bedroom window) still pretty much goes on.

Stay safe, Japan!
