Mr Ng Kai Jie, 21, was driving to Malacca with two passengers when their car hit the rear-left side of the lorry, which had been travelling in the same direction as their car. The impact of the crash sent both vehicles veering off the road.

Twenty-one new cases of locally-transmitted Zika virus have been confirmed in central Bangkok, including a pregnant woman who later gave birth with no complications. The cases were confirmed in the Sathorn area of the city, an up-market neighbourhood popular with the city’s expat community.
